El muelle de la ciudad Southend-on-Sea (Inglaterra), con 2158 metros de largo, fue hasta hace unos años el muelle más largo del mundo . En 1988, el muelle de la ciudad de Progreso (Yutacán, México) le arrebató el primer puesto cuando añadieron a su longitud de 2100 metros un total de 4000.
El muelle de la ciudad de Essex puede cruzarse a pie o bien en un tren que te lleva de un extremo a otro. Tras su remodelación hace unos años, Southend se ha convertido en centro cultural de exposiciones artísticas, danza, festivales de música, actividades de ocio para adultos y niños, e incluso, ofrece la diversión en el parque de atracciones que se sitúa cercano a la entrada del muelle.
The pier of the town Southend-On-Sea (England), 2158 meters long, was the longest pier in the world until a few years ago. In 1988, the pier of the Progreso city (Yutacán, México), 2100 meters long, knocked it off the top spot when it was added to its length a total of 4000 meters.
The pier of the Essex town can be crossed on foot or by train which carries you from end to end. After its restoration, Southend-On-Sea became a cultural center with arts exhibitions, dance, music festivals, leisure activities for children and adults, and it even offers fun at the theme park which is located near the main entrance of the pier.
